We wish to fill the job title of Domiciliary Manager. This is a Manager who will support our Registered Manager and the Service Director to run day to day operations to allow them to concentrate on Business Operational matters. 

We also wish to fill the vacancy of Senior Healthcare Workers across our Service. The Senior Healthcare Workers will be allocated to Children Service, Adult Learning Disability and Supported Living Services.

Job Description

We are recruiting a Domiciliary Manager to support our community service in Northampton. This is an opportunity to manage and develop the service under the support of Registered Manager and Service Director. If you are already a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader, this role may be the next step in your career.

Main Duties:

  • Supporting and supervising Senior Support Workers and providing day to day guidance.
  • Implementation of robust staff rotas designed to safeguard; support and develop service users and work towards a high retention ratio.
  • Conducting Service User Assessments
  • Arranging and Conducting Review Meetings with clients and families
  • Liaise with service users, Social Workers, family members, GPs and other Professionals or relevant others to ensure good communication and best practice always.
  • Supporting Registered Manager to continually assess the quality of the service delivered, implementing appropriate quality assurance processes in line with policies and contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that on-call is covered outside office hours, including holding the phone as part of the on-call Senior rota.
  • Conducting Spot checks and competency checks on staff
  • Line manage Senior Support Workers, arranging training programmes, monitoring performance, and demonstrate leadership inspiring the team to achieve the highest possible standards.
  • Implement and update and evaluate Care/Support Plans
  • Conduct Staff Supervisions
  • Conduct monthly Staff meetings
  • To report on complaints and concerns highlighted

Reporting to on the hierarchy:
The Domiciliary Manager will report to Registered Manager-Oswell Gwati

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualified to the level equivalent to GSEs
  • Experience in caring for service users
  • Experience in formulating Care Plans
  • Excellent Communication and good literacy Skills
  • Fully computer literate with excellent administration and staff management skills
  • Reliable with good attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Be Willing to work towards NVQ Level 4/5
  • Dynamic ambitious and hardworking
  • Adept at managing and directing people in a fast-paced changing environment
  • In possession of a range of skills which can support further diversification of services as the business grows and develops
  • Experience within management of high-quality home care desirable but not essential

Qualifications

Job Title: Senior Health Care Worker

Job Description

We are recruiting Senior Health Care Workers to support our community and Supported Living service across  Northamptonshire to support our vulnerable service users in the following services: Supported Living and Domiciliary Service.You will be one of the friendly team of Senior Support Workers. You will play a vital role  in providing people we support with care and be able to profoundly improve their quality of life. You will assist people who are unable to live independently by offering them the practical help they need, as well as emotional support.

Main Duties:

As a Senior Health Care worker, your responsibilities will vary as the nature of the role calls for it. However, these will mostly consist of:

  • Personal care: Assist with personal hygiene, washing assistance with using the toilet, assistance with incontinence inc. pads, commodes and catheter bags. Complex Care needs such as Peg Feed, Colostonomy Bags and Oxygen Management.
  • Support with eating and drinking: Ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities, prepared meals look appetising and make sure the way they eat is appropriate for the client
  • Assisting with shopping:This is completed on the client’s request and a finance form must be completed with a receipt
  • Assist with mobility:Use of a hoist or other aides, or assistance in standing and movement. Dressing or assisting with any physical activity whereby the clients needs support
  • Domestic duties:Cleaning, emptying bins, washing where requested
  • Record keeping:MAR chart (for medication), log book (recording each visit to communicate to the next carer), care plan updates.
  • Please note: it is very important to note that each client has a person-centred care plan. This will contain everything the customer needs and will also outline their individual preferences, likes, dislikes and requirements. This is a live document and will need to be kept updated to ensure that the care and support provided is appropriate and MUSTbe followed stringently.
  • Assist with medication: completing the MAR chart (Medical Administration Record) the administration of medication as outlined in the care plan and with customer consent
  • Promote independence:to allow the client to do as much as they can for themselves and only offer support where they need it
  • Maintain professional relationships:clients can only be visited on duty and a carer must be in full uniform, with ID and PPE (personal protection equipment). A carer must not accept any gratuities from the client.

Work with empathy, honesty and integrity:

  • Safeguarding: Protect the client from significant harm, abuse or neglect. It is important that all carers follow the company “whistleblowing” policy to raise any concerns they may have about clients or fellow carers
  • Respect dignity
  • Ensure care delivered is person centred
  • Give companionship: Simply talking and listening to the client and understanding their like and dislikes and encourage stimulating activities
  • Notice when there is a change and report appropriately – The on-going relationship and communication with the branch is essential. Branches offer full support in any reporting and advice, also including involvement of multi agencies (i.e. social services, police GP etc.)
  • Promoting health: Infection prevention, understanding illnesses including dementia and supporting with emergency first aid where necessary
  • Communication
  • Conducting calls: On average each call is 15 minutes, depending on the client, this time is precious and it is important that this time is used effectively. Where time constraints are affecting the quality of care for the client, the branch must be made aware so that adjustments can be made.

You need to have experience to be a Senior Care/Support Worker and have obtained a Health & Social Care Level 3 qualification or equivalent (or working towards). We employ our Senior Support Workers based on their values.
